  • It is a condition in which Ghalīz Sawdāwī Rīh (Thick choleric vapour) is produced within the intestines, reaching occasionally to the other parts of the body, especially lower abdomin.
  • It is caused by Riyāh Ghalīz (Thick vapours), produced by Sawdā’ (Black bile).
  • It is characterized by colicky pain, gastric flatulence, gurgling and general weakness.

  • Joshānda-i Aftīmūn
  •  Oral administration of powder of Post-i Bekh-i Kibr (Root bark of Capparis spinosa, Linn.)  1part and  Sa‘tar Fārsī (Zataria multiflora, Boiss.) ½ part.
  •  Oral administration of powder of Hiltīt Biryān (Roasted asafoetida) 480 mg., Bekh-i Kibr (Root of Capparis spinosa, Linn.) 1 gm. mixed with Gulqand.
  •  Oral administration of powder of Aftīmūn (Cuscuta reflexa, Roxb.) with Mā’ al-Jubn.
  • Oral administration of Muqil (Balsamodendron mukul, Hook.) 1 gm ., mixed with Itrīfal Kishnīzī, 12 gm. along with lukewarm water.
  •  Oral administration of Shīra of Khiyārayn (Cucumis sativus, Linn.) with Sharbat Dīnār.
  •  Oral administration of the decoction of Hulba (Trigonella foenum-graeceum, Linn.).

Compound drugs:

Jawārish Kamūnī 7-12 gm.
Jawārish Jālīnūs 7-12 gm.
Ma‘jūn Dabīd al-Ward 7 gm.in morning. 
Habb-i Muqil 2-4 numbers at bedtime with lukewarm water.
Itrīfal Saghīr 12 gm. at bedtime.
Itrīfal Muqil 7-12 gm. at bedtime.
Sikanjabīn Aftīmūnī 24 ml.

  • Hammām (Bath);It is bath, medically used for producing moistness/dryness/compactness/rarefaction in the skin/body.
  • Riyāzat (Exercise)
  • Fasd-i Bāslīq (Bloodletting through basilic vein)
  • Fasd-i Sāfin (Bloodletting through saphenous vein)
  • Hijāma (Cupping) on anal region.
  • Mā’ al-Jubn;Goat milk is boiled and a sour substance is added to it, so that the suspended albumins are clotted and separated from the liquid component. It is then filtered and whey is obtained.
