- It is caused by Ghizā’ Ghalīz Khām (Food that is partially cooked and hard to digest), pouring of irritants, sour black bile and bilious fluids on stomach.
- It is characterized by burning sensation in epigastric region and behind the sternum (Either at full or empty stomach), nausea, vomiting and discomfort.

- Oral administration of the decoction of Tukhm-i Mūlī (Seed of Raphanus sativus, Linn.), common salt and honey for emesis, followed by oral administration of Sharbat-i Anārayn 48ml.
- Oral administration of powder of Gul-i Babūl (Flower of Acacia Arabica, Willd.) 1 part, Namak-i Tabarzad (Rock salt) 1 part, in the dose of 7gm.
- Oral administration of mucilaginous decanted liquid prepared from Aspghol Musallam (Seed of Plantago ovata, Forsk.) 17.5gm, mixed with sugar.

Sikanjabīn Bazūrī | 24 ml. |
Murabbā-i Āmla | 1 daily after washing with water. |
Murabbā-i Halayla | 1-2 after washing with water at bed time |
Namak Sulaymānī | 3 gm.after meal. |
Jawārish-i Mastagī | 5-9 gm. with ‘Arq-i Bādiyān 144 ml. |
Sikanjabīn ‘Unsulī | 12-24 ml. |
- Aghziya Ghalīza-Dry and viscous foods such as dry date,Adas Musallam(Lens esculenta Moench.)etc.These are of two types i.e. Mahmuda(that produce good humour)andGhayr Mahmuda(that produce morbid humour).
- Diets, that may produce black bile.
- Fasd-i Usaylim (Bloodletting from Usaylim vein) of left hand.
- Qay’ (Emesis)
- Mā’ al-Sha‘īr-Barley water.
- Aghziya Nāshifa-Foods that have the property of absorbing the moisture of the body.
- Aghziya Latīfa-Food stuffs which are easy to digest but have little nutritional value,and produce such a sanguine which is normal in viscosity.These are of two types i.e Mahmuda (that produce good humour) and Ghayr Mahmuda(that produce morbid humour)e.g.garlic,radish,spicy and salty foods,etc.
- Mā’ al-Jubn-Goat milk is boiled and a sour substance is added to it,so that the suspended albumins are clotted and separated from the liquid component.It is then filtered and whey is obtained.
- Regimens, that may increase the production of black bile should be avoided.
